What am I actually allowed to ask on here?

I have been reading for about two months without posting and I keep drafting things and then deleting them, because I do not know where the line is.

Is this a place where you can ask a very basic question, or is that annoying for people who have been here for ages? Are the care questions and the more personal ones supposed to stay in their own boards? And is there a list somewhere of what is not okay to bring up?

I would rather ask this first and look overcautious than get it wrong on my first real post.
