First one went well, what would you change for the second?

Following on from the thread I posted a while back, we actually did it. Nine people, a cafe on a Sunday afternoon, about three hours, and it was genuinely lovely. Nobody was weird, three people said it was their first ever meetup, and two of them have already asked when the next one is.

So I am doing another one and I would like it to be better rather than just the same again. Two things went wrong. It was too loud in there and the people at the far end of the table basically had their own separate afternoon. And I did not do a good job of noticing the two quietest people, who I think left earlier than they meant to.

What would you change on a second one? Bigger group or the same size? Anything you have learned that only shows up once you have done one.
